Today, Governor Rick Scott vetoed $10 million in state funding for Quiet Zone implementation. This in no way affects the Broward MPO’s commitment to fully funding a continuous Quiet Zone along the Florida East Coast (FEC) corridor throughout the Broward region. The goal of having a continuous Quiet Zone in place when All Aboard Florida begins passenger service is still on track. Working together with our municipal partners and All Aboard Florida has allowed us to create a Quiet Zone which will improve the quality of life for the residents of Broward while maximizing our limited Federal funding.
