What is the Southeast Florida Transportation Council (SEFTC)?
After several years of ad hoc coordination, the Southeast Florida Transportation Council was created, under Florida Statutes Chapter 339.175, to serve as a formal forum for policy coordination and communication to carry out regional initiatives agreed upon by the Metropolitan Planning Organization's (MPO) from Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. An interlocal agreement between the MPOs was completed in 2005 paving the way for the first SEFTC meeting in January 2006.
Since its inception SEFTC has adopted:

  • Regional goals and objectives
  • Regional corridor of significance criteria
  • Regional long range transportation plan
  • Project lists for Transportation Regional Incentive Program (TRIP)
