BROWARD MPO's BIKE SAFETY CAMPAIGN
KEEP YOUR DISTANCE. AT LEAST 3 FEET. IT’S THE LAW!
In an effort to encourage everyone to practice safe behavior and improve the safety of all road users, the Broward MPO, has developed a public education campaign regarding the 3-Foot Law. The campaign educates motorists about Florida Statute 316.083: Overtaking and Passing, the law states a motorist must pass a bicyclist by no less than 3 feet. See the post card below. The Broward MPO’s three pronged campaign targets the general public and the motorist. For the general public, the MPO has created a high visibility display that will be placed at the Sawgrass Mills Mall from September 17th to October 16th. After October 16th the display will then be stationed throughout Broward County at libraries, police stations and other venues to create further public awareness. Along with display are complementary handouts and posters.
